ITEM-Benelux Workshop

‘Recognising Qualifications throughout the EU’

Thursday 15th November 2018 | 10:30 to 16:30 | Benelux Secretariat-General Rue de la Régence 39, 1000 Brussels

ITEM and the Benelux are pleased to announce the organisation of the Workshop Recognising Qualifications throughout the EU. Recognition plays an important role in the mobility of both students and professionals, as a positive recognition decision may serve as a precondition to accessing study or work in another Member State. Despite their inevitability, recognition procedures are complex and the number of stakeholders is vast.
The Workshop will be about how qualifications are recognised throughout the EU. The objective is to explore recognition in various regional and institutional settings. During the workshop, we strive to look beyond bottlenecks and challenges related to recognition, thereby focusing also on what best practices are employed. To this end, the workshop strives to bring together a variety of actors involved with the topic. During the workshop, plenary presentations are combined with two panels exploring recognition challenges, but mostly best practices, in the Benelux-Germany region and throughout the EU as a whole. Furthermore, the workshop provides for the occasion to present the B-solutions project “Roadmap & factsheet for the recognition of qualifications for highly demanded professions”.
